ADAM M. ARON
Vail Resorts
Adam Aron is chairman and chief executive officer of Vail Resorts.
Vail Resorts is the premier mountain resort operator.
Prior to his position at Vail Resorts, Aron served as president and
chief executive officer of Kloster Cruise Limited, the fourth largest
cruise company in the world. Previously, Aron was senior vice president
of marketing for United Airlines, responsible for United's advertising,
marketing strategy and programs, reservations, and customer relations.
Before joining United in November, 1990, Aron served as senior vice
president for Hyatt Hotels Corporation in Chicago. He also served
as vice president of marketing programs for Western Airlines and was
based in Los Angeles. Prior to that, he was based in New York with
Pan American World Airways as system director of marketing plans and
programs.
He serves on the board of directors of Vail Resorts and of Norwegian
Cruise Line Limited. He is a former member of the board of directors
of Royal Caribbean Cruises Limited, and Bank Northwest, located in
Steamboat Springs and Vail, Colorado. He also served as an official
delegate to President Clinton's 1995 White House Conference on Travel
and Tourism.
Aron was named "1995 Travel Person of the Year" and "1995 Cruise Industry
Executive of the Year" by Gem and Cruiselink, respectively. Tour and
Travel News named him one of "The 25 Most Influential Executives in
the Tour and Travel Industry" for 1994. He was named in 1992 by Crain's
Chicago Business as one of the 40 under 40, "the forty shakers and
movers in Chicago under the age of 40." Travel Agent magazine named
him one of the 1993 "People of the Year" in the travel industry. He
was named twice as one of the "Ad Age Marketing 100" -- the 100 best
marketers in the United States -- in 1992, and again in 1994 for Norwegian
Cruise Line. Aron, a Philadelphia native, holds an MBA from the Harvard
Business School and a BA, cum laude, in government from Harvard College.
He and his wife Abby have two children.
