PRG-Schultz International
John Cook is president and chief executive officer of PRG-Schultz International
(NASDAQ: PRGX), the largest and only publicly traded comprehensive accounts
payable recovery audit services firm.
Prior to founding PRG in 1990, Cook served as president and chief
executive officer of Roy Greene Associates from 1989 to 1990. Previously,
he held a number of top financial and management positions in the
retail industry, including senior vice president and chief financial
officer of Caldor Stores, a division of The May Department Store Company,
and senior vice president of finance and controller of Kaufmann's
Department Stores, another May division. In addition, he held the
position of president of Eaton Corporation's Car Repair division.
Cook serves on the board of trustees of Atlanta's Woodruff Arts Center,
and the board of directors of the High Museum of Art. He is a member
of the dean's advisory council of the Goizueta Business School at
Emory University, and a member of The Carter Center's board of councilors.
A member of the board of trustees of Saint Louis University, he serves
on the executive advisory board of the university's School of Business
and Administration.
In June of 1999, Cook was named Ernst & Young's Regional Entrepreneur
of the Year for the Financial Services category and was inducted into
the Entrepreneur Hall of Fame.
In 1996 he created the Cook Family Foundation, and the John and Lucy
Cook Supporting Foundation, private foundations that further the arts
and education.
Cook is a graduate of St. Louis University, from which he holds a
bachelor's degree in accounting.
