GEORGE R. HORNIG

George Hornig is managing director of CSFB Private Equity, the global private equity arm of Credit Suisse Group, one of the largest managers of alternative assets in the world.

Previously, Hornig served as managing director and a member of the management committee of Deutsche Bank Americas. There he was the number two ranking executive responsible for managing Deutsche Bank's holding company in the Americas, including all investment and commercial banking subsidiaries.

Earlier, Hornig served as president and chief operating officer of Dubin & Swieca Holdings, where he ran the second largest international investment firm in managed derivatives. From 1988 to 1991, he was managing director and chief operating officer of Wasserstein Perella Group, which he also co-founded. He was the architect and manager of all aspects of the financial and operating infrastructure of the start-up global investment banking firm, which generated revenues over $200 million in 1989. Earlier, Hornig served as vice president, M&A and investment banking groups from 1983 to 1988. During that same time, he was a member of First Boston Chairman's Planning Task Force. From 1980 to 1983, he was an associate with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom.

Hornig serves as director for Forrester Research, First New England Dental Centers, Unity Mutual Life Insurance Company, and SL Industries. He is a member of Harvard University Committee on University Resources.

Hornig received his AB in economics from Harvard College in 1976. In 1980, he earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and his JD from Harvard Law School.
